Day Nineteen: Something That Makes You Different

Something that makes me different.

Hm...

Um...

Haa...

Well...

I think the best way to tackle this is by making a list because I know how much you all love lists.

5 Things that Make Me Different From You
  1. I am not white. (Obviously this is only fitting for some, cut me some slack!)
  2. My birth date is a darn good estimate rather than a fact.
  3. I totally suck at doing my hair, apart from washing and brushing it (and Dylan would argue the washing part I'm still getting down--hey, I've got kids! And a husband! How many hours in a day do you think there are?).
  4. I'm pretty sure my littlest piggies only have one joint. And maybe the other piggies as well.
  5. I have monolids. (See #1)

I'm sure there are more but what kind of audience am I talking to??...

A Purrfect Party!

A little someone turned 4 in February and we celebrated with a Purrfect Party!
An old co-worker of mine made this awesome cake for Ada's party. She does this in her free time. Seriously Brittany, you're amazing.
We also had chocolate cupcakes (mostly because I couldn't put candles into the Hello Kitty cake...it didn't deserve that kind of treatment).
We also played Pin the Bow on Hello Kitty and everyone got in on the action, even Great-Grandma Hilda.

Ada of course got more than her fair share of birthday gifts.
 And even Nellie got one.

Grandma and Grandpa gave Ada a huge plastic spider because Ada is always teasing Grandma Jill on the phone that she is going to bring one to their lake house (Grandma Jill hates spiders).
Ada thought it was hysterical...although she wasn't so willing to get near it for a while.
We finally cut the poor girl up.
Tasty funfetti inside with chocolate frosting...I'm not crazy about fondant but Ada loved it.
Hiding out and doing naughty things with the Grandmas.
 NO POP.
Thank you everyone who stopped by and joined us to celebrate Ada's 4th birthday! We truly are lucky to have such wonderful friends and family.
And last but not least, a little cupcake bandit.

Bertney's Visit

Aunt Bertney came and stayed with us for a long weekend. It was awesome to spend time together it was not so awesome that we had our first bout of lice two days prior to her visit. Luckily Bert's a sport and put up with the upended house and crazy, cooped up girls--she even helped me slather them in mayonnaise, vinegar and other ungodly concoctions in order to beat the buggers.

We didn't take many pictures while she was here, we were too busy gabbing and doing, but here are the few that I managed to take:

NOTE: Bert gave Nellie a spoonful of Mayo.
DISGUSTING.
And she loved it.
Truly I have married a white man from a white family of mayonnaise lovers. ;-)
Ada decided she wanted to play outside.
Ada and Dylan made a snowman. Notice Dylan's half-tipped, bloody, dripping finger...

Dylan's iPhone Cache

Some pictures from Dylan's new iPhone...

Poor Moses, Ada's ugliest, "living doll."
I went to Kansas City, MO, for a school trip at the beginning of January and the girls got to stay home and have quality Daddy-time. They took many a walk:
They also sent me pictures because this Mama was a bit homesick.

 I love these two.
And my Cry Baby.
My Mom bought Ada this dress-gown for Christmas and she got a makeup kit from Grandma Sheila. This is what happens when 3 (at the time) year olds and such nefarious pieces mix. Dylan and I like to think it's some sort of Bride-of-Chuckie-esque costume (not the "booootyful princess Ada" that we've been inundated with).
Lounging at home with the fam.

We're a pretty good looking bunch if I do say so myself.
